On August 2-3, 2017, the Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, Jeffery Hutchinson, was hosted by Admiral Paul Zukunft, Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, at the Canada-United States Coast Guard Summit in Grand Haven, Michigan. The annual summit provides an opportunity for both Coast Guards to re-affirm and strengthen their long history of collaboration in keeping mariners safe and protecting our shared waters. During the summit, Commissioner Hutchinson and Admiral Zukunft signed an updated Joint Marine Pollution Contingency Plan to underscore both countries’ commitment to work together during marine environmental emergencies.
